How does ROKband work?
ROKband head-shaping technology is a helmet made from soft orthopedic padding custom-fitted to your child’s head to direct skull growth exactly where needed. The helmet has contoured trim lines to encourage skull growth into these areas to help correct flat skulls or asymmetrical head shapes in infants aged 4-6 months.
Why ROKband works
Over 5000 children and their families have experienced the life-changing effects of their ROKband:
Other helmets are made from hard, inflexible plastic and are cumbersome for an infant to wear, especially one who hasn’t yet developed strong neck muscles. ROKbands are 1/2 the weight and 1/3 the thickness of other helmets so they can play and sleep easier, unhindered by a bulky helmet.
With the capability to capture a staggering 550,000 measurements per second, the PEEL scanner ensures the highest level of accuracy to within half a millimetre.
Traditional hard-sided helmets are uncomfortable and severely restrict your infant’s movement. If your infant also has torticollis, this lack of movement ability makes it more difficult to heal their muscles. With ROKband, your baby has an increased range of motion to support their muscle tone and strengthen to heal their torticollis.
With early ROKband treatment starting around 4 months of age, it’s faster to correct head asymmetry. Beginning treatment while your infant’s skull is relatively soft, makes our head shaping technology easier and more effective, than in older children with firmer, more developed skulls.
ROKband is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared device. It has passed rigorous testing to ensure it is safe and effective for your baby.
Unlike other helmets that trap heat, ROKbands have been engineered with ventilation to make them as much as 4 degrees cooler. This minimizes the discomfort of sweating, skin irritation, and unwanted odours.
ROKband helmets are made from biodegradable materials, low energy fabrication techniques, and produce 95% less manufacturing waste. This results in a hugely reduced environmental impact compared to a traditional helmet.
Our PEEL 3D LED scanners are radiation-free and non-invasive, ensuring that your child's health is protected during the scanning process. ROKband uses CraniAlign scan alignment technology to combine head scans from multiple appointments to see your baby’s progress. You'll receive a personalized report that displays all your baby's unique head shape measurements, during your appointment.
